Dhāruhera lies in the Rewari district of southern Haryana, on the national highway between Delhi and Jaipur. From above, the town is organised by that road: a long, broad corridor with factories, warehouses and commercial buildings on both sides, and residential areas spreading out behind them in blocks of varying age and regularity.
The town grew rapidly as an industrial centre within the wider National Capital Region, and large manufacturing units, especially in the automotive sector, occupy big rectangular plots. On the map these form an industrial belt clearly distinct from the older village core and the newer housing sectors laid out on straighter grids.
