Hadagalli, often written Huvina Hadagalli, is a town in central Karnataka, in the country along the Tungabhadra River. From above, it forms a compact core of narrow streets and dense blocks. A few main roads run out through the surrounding farmland, and the street pattern grows looser and more scattered toward the edges of town.
The name Huvina Hadagalli is linked with flowers, since huvu means flower in Kannada, and the area has long been known for growing jasmine. Around the town, the map fills with the fine outlines of field boundaries, water tanks and irrigation channels. These support the farms of this part of the Deccan plateau and fill much of the sheet.
