Kantyshevo is a large rural settlement in Ingushetia, on the gently sloping plain north of Nazran. From above, it is defined by long, mostly straight streets lined with walled household plots. Each plot has a house and a garden. Together they form a dense but regular texture that spreads across a wide area.
The main Caucasus ridge rises to the south, while the land around Kantyshevo is open farmland crossed by roads and irrigation channels. The settlement is close enough to Nazran that the two are linked by main roads, but it keeps its own separate, village-like layout, with streets that follow the lie of the land rather than a single grid.
