Katoro Map Poster & Print
Katoro is a town in Geita Region, north-western Tanzania, south of Lake Victoria. It has grown quickly as a trading centre, and from above it looks like it: a busy main road runs through the middle, with a dense cluster of streets and plots around it, then a looser pattern of lanes and tracks spreading out into farmland.
The Geita area is well known for gold mining, and it has drawn people from across Tanzania, which helps explain the rapid growth of towns like Katoro. The land around the town is gently rolling, with fields, scattered homes and footpaths making a fine web on the map, much less regular than the streets of the centre.
A Katoro map poster captures a town in the middle of growing. The main road is the backbone, the market streets make the darkest part of the composition, and the edges fade into countryside. It is an honest snapshot of a young town in a region that is changing quickly.

Trading centre
Around the road, closely packed streets and plots mark the commercial heart of the town, the densest area of the map.
Growing edges
Beyond the centre, lanes and footpaths spread out into the surrounding farmland, a loose, branching texture that shows where the town is still expanding.
