Irregular street pattern
Lanes and paths meet at uneven angles, following compounds and footpaths instead of a surveyed grid. From above, the centre has a loose, hand-drawn quality.

Kintinian Map Poster & Print
Kintinian is a town in the Siguiri area of the Kankan Region, in the north-east of Guinea. The land here is flat to gently rolling savanna, and the map shows it. There is a loose centre of streets and compounds, and dirt roads and paths spread outward over open ground. No hills or coastline hold the settlement in.
The Siguiri area is known across West Africa for gold, mined by large operations and by small-scale diggers, and Kintinian lies within that landscape. On a detailed map the settlement's edges often look irregular. Tracks lead toward mine workings and neighbouring villages, which shows a place that has grown along with the work around it.
A Kintinian map poster offers a rare view of a town that seldom appears in atlases. Drawn in fine lines, the irregular network of lanes, the few longer roads and the open savanna around them make a quiet, spacious composition. It looks very different from the dense grids of larger cities and gives each line room to be seen.

Radiating tracks
Longer roads and tracks leave the settlement in several directions. They link it with nearby villages and the wider Siguiri area across open country.
Open savanna
Around the built area the map opens into broad empty space, where scattered paths and field edges are the only marks. This frames the town clearly on the page.

For people from Kintinian working in Conakry, elsewhere in West Africa or abroad, a map of home is hard to find anywhere else. It records the lanes of family compounds and the roads out of town in a form that can hang on a wall far from Upper Guinea.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or the year you left. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. A free 900 px preview lets you check the framing before you buy.
