Kushk is a town in Herat Province in western Afghanistan, in dry, open country far from the provincial capital. Like many towns in the region, it serves as a local centre for surrounding villages, with a market and roads linking it to the wider province.
From above, the town is a cluster of walled compounds and narrow lanes, with larger streets crossing it.
