Lynn Map Poster & Print
Lynn lies on the North Shore of Massachusetts, a few miles north-east of Boston, facing Massachusetts Bay. In the nineteenth century it was one of the country's great shoemaking centres, and it later became home to a large General Electric works on the Saugus River. That industrial past still shapes the dense streets and triple-decker neighbourhoods near downtown.
Water and woods frame the map. To the south-east, Lynn Shore Drive follows a long, gentle curve of beach toward the causeway to Nahant. The western part of the city is dominated by Lynn Woods, one of the largest municipal parks in the United States, where ponds and trails take the place of streets.
A Lynn map poster brings these pieces together: the curve of the shoreline, the tight downtown grid, the industrial land along the river and the wide green space of the reservation. For a city of its size the composition is unusually varied, and each part tells a chapter of its story.

Lynn Woods
This large wooded reservation fills much of the western city with forest, ponds and paths. On the map it appears as a wide, quiet space among dense streets.
Downtown grid
Near the old factory district, blocks are small and streets tightly packed, a result of the city's industrial growth. It is the densest part of the composition.
