Paranoá Map Poster & Print
Paranoá is an administrative region of the Federal District, east of Lake Paranoá and the centre of Brasília. The town is laid out in regular blocks and rows of streets, typical of the planned settlements around the capital. Around it, the map opens out into the savanna of the cerrado, with roads and small farms.
The district takes its name from the lake, which was created by damming the Paranoá river during the construction of Brasília. The town grew out of a camp for workers who built the dam, and later became a permanent settlement. The dam itself lies nearby, at the southern end of the lake.
A Paranoá map poster presents a planned town in clear geometry: parallel streets, repeated blocks and a few main avenues, with the water and open land nearby. It shows the side of Brasília that grew beside the famous plan, which is exactly what makes it interesting.

The lake and dam
Lake Paranoá, created when the river was dammed for the new capital, lies to the west, and the dam is close to the town.
Cerrado surroundings
Open savanna, small farms and roads surround the district, leaving a lot of empty space around the dense town on the map.

ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Paranoá's story is tied to the building of Brasília, and many families here trace their roots to the workers who built the city. A map of it is a way to honour that history and the place people call home.
