From above, Sheung Shui reads as a compact cluster of tall residential blocks gathered around the railway, with older village lanes still visible between them. The street pattern tightens near the station and loosens toward the fields and fish ponds that once surrounded the town. Engineered river channels curve through the plan in clean, deliberate lines.
The East Rail line runs through the town and continues north toward the Lo Wu crossing into Shenzhen, so the map sits just short of a boundary.
