Compound pattern
Family compounds and winding lanes form an organic texture instead of a grid, a pattern that turns intricate and beautiful when printed in black and white.

Sibi Map Poster & Print
Sibi, also written Siby, lies in Mali's Koulikoro region, a short distance southwest of Bamako, in the historic Mandé heartland. On the map it appears as a loose settlement of compounds and lanes rather than a formal grid. The main road from the capital passes close by, and farm tracks branch out into the surrounding fields.
The land around Sibi is more varied than much of the Sahel. Sandstone escarpments of the Mandé plateau rise nearby, cut by gullies and seasonal streams, and in the rainy season the fields around the town turn green with millet, sorghum and other crops. These features give the modest built area a textured, layered setting.
A Sibi map poster is made for people with roots in the town or the wider Mandé region, and for those who have visited the cliffs and villages outside Bamako. Its value lies in accuracy: the real paths, compounds and roads of a real place, drawn with the same care as any capital city.

Road to Bamako
The main road links Sibi with the capital to the northeast. It is a clear, strong line across the poster that connects the town to the wider region.
Escarpment country
Rocky ridges and plateau edges lie close to the town, and gullies and seasonal streams add irregular lines across the surrounding land.
