Verda River valley
The small Verda winds past the town in a shallow valley. Its bends and nearby ponds give the map soft, natural shapes beside the street plan.

Skopin Map Poster & Print
Skopin lies in the south of Ryazan Oblast, on the Verda River, among gently rolling farmland. From above, the historic centre sits on raised ground above the river valley. Its streets follow a fairly regular plan around the central squares and churches. Ponds, ravines and the river bend break the edges of the town into irregular shapes.
It is known for Skopin pottery, a folk craft of glazed ceramics shaped like fantastical animals and birds. The craft has been made here since the nineteenth century and is now in museum collections across Russia. In the twentieth century, lignite mining in the Moscow coal basin added industrial settlements and workings around the town.
A Skopin map poster combines the orderly streets of a provincial Russian centre with the soft forms of river, ponds and valley slopes. Rail lines and roads cross the surrounding fields. The composition is quiet and balanced, well suited to anyone who grew up here or has a family connection to the town.

Historic centre
The old town sits on higher ground with a fairly regular grid of streets. Churches and squares occupy the centre, forming the densest part of the map.
Surrounding workings
Traces of twentieth-century lignite mining and related settlements lie around Skopin. They add scattered clusters and irregular shapes to wider views of the area.

ለምን Skopin
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
For people from Skopin, or those who collect its famous ceramics, a map of the town has a special meaning. It shows the streets, river and slopes that a folk craft and generations of families grew from.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, in Latin or Cyrillic lettering, with a name or a year. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits the town's quiet provincial character.
