Wakema Map Poster & Print
Wakema lies in the Ayeyarwady Region, in the low, water-laced delta of southern Myanmar. The town stands beside one of the many river channels that divide the land into islands and strips. On a map, the water dominates, with a wide channel along the town, narrower creeks winding through the surrounding country and streets clustered on the firmer ground near the bank.
As in much of the delta, life here has long been organised around rivers. Boats have carried people and rice between towns, and roads have followed later along the higher ground. The countryside around Wakema is mainly paddy land, crossed by waterways and small settlements along their edges.
A Wakema map poster reduces this landscape to its essential lines: the curve of the main channel, the compact streets of the town and the fine threads of creeks beyond. It is a quiet image of a delta town where water sets the shape of everything.

Riverside streets
The town's streets gather close to the bank, so the built-up area appears as a compact cluster that follows the line of the water.
Creek network
Beyond the town, smaller creeks wind through flat paddy land. They draw a delicate, irregular pattern toward the edges of the map.
