The Garonne edge
The wide river runs down the east of Muret with islands and gravel banks, and the bridges across it are among the clearest lines on the map.

Muret Map Poster & Print
Muret lies on the Garonne about twenty kilometres upstream of Toulouse, and the river dominates its map. The broad, braided water runs along the eastern side of the town. The small Louge joins it close to the old centre, and together the two streams frame a tight historic core. Further out, residential districts and business parks spread westward across the flat plain.
The town is best known for the Battle of Muret in 1213. It was a decisive moment in the Albigensian Crusade: the forces of Simon de Montfort defeated King Peter II of Aragon beneath the walls. Muret is also the birthplace of Clément Ader, the engineer and aviation pioneer. His name appears widely across the town.
A Muret map poster brings together the river landscape and the growth of the Toulouse region. Bridges cross the Garonne to the right bank, and the railway and main roads run north toward the city. Along the water, bands of trees and gravel banks show up as softer patterns against the regular blocks of the newer neighbourhoods.

Where the Louge meets
The small Louge flows through town and joins the Garonne near the historic centre, pinching the old streets into a compact triangle.
Clément Ader's hometown
The aviation pioneer was born here, and the town has long honoured him. Knowing that adds another layer to the streets and squares on the map.
