Calella Map Poster & Print
Calella lies on the Maresme coast north of Barcelona, and its map is shaped by a narrow strip of land between the hills and the Mediterranean. The town stretches along the shore. The railway and a coastal road run parallel to the beach, while the streets of the town fill the flatter ground behind them and begin to climb the slopes inland.
The long sandy beach forms a clean boundary along one side, and the wooded hills of the coastal range close the town in on the other. At the southern end, a lighthouse stands on a headland above the sea. Calella's historic core, with its church and market streets, sits a short walk from the beach.
