El mapa
Battle Ground Map Poster & Print
Battle Ground lies in Clark County in southwest Washington, north of Vancouver and the Columbia River. Its name comes from a tense standoff in 1855 between Klickitat people and soldiers from Fort Vancouver, which ended without a battle. Today it is one of the faster-growing communities in the county, and from above its older centre is surrounded by expanding residential neighbourhoods.
The street pattern mixes straight section-line roads from the area's farming past with the curving streets and cul-de-sacs of newer subdivisions. To the east the land rises toward the foothills of the Cascades, and nearby Battle Ground Lake State Park surrounds a small lake in a volcanic crater. On the map, forest and farmland frame the town on several sides.
A Battle Ground map poster reflects a place in the middle of change. The straight lines of the rural grid still structure the drawing, while newer neighbourhoods fill the spaces between them in looser shapes. It makes a strong, balanced image in black and white and a meaningful keepsake for anyone watching the town grow.

New subdivisions
Curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs fill the spaces between the grid roads, giving the poster a lively contrast between straight lines and softer loops.
Crater lake nearby
Northeast of town, Battle Ground Lake sits in a small volcanic crater within a state park, a round form set in forest beyond the residential streets.
