The highway axis
The national road between the country's two largest cities cuts cleanly through town and gives the whole composition its spine, with lanes branching off it at regular intervals.

El mapa
Boromo Map Poster & Print
From above, Boromo reads as a line before it reads as a town. The main road between Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso runs straight through it, and the settlement gathers on either side in a loose grid of lanes, compounds and courtyards. Beyond the last blocks the pattern breaks up into tracks and cultivated plots, and the map turns quiet very quickly.
The town sits in the Boucle du Mouhoun region, named for the great bend of the Mouhoun, the river also known as the Black Volta. Its valley lies close by, and the drainage lines that feed it cross the surrounding savanna as thin, wandering strokes. Travellers know Boromo mostly as the halfway stop on the long highway, where buses and trucks pull in before continuing.
A Boromo map poster keeps that simplicity. There is one strong axis, a modest cluster of streets and a wide margin of countryside, and in black and white the composition feels almost architectural. It suits anyone who wants a map that is about scale and restraint rather than density, a record of a place defined by the road that passes through it.

Compound grid
Residential blocks form an informal grid of lanes and courtyards. At poster scale they show up as a fine, even texture that fades toward the edges of town.
Mouhoun country
The town belongs to the region shaped by the Mouhoun's great bend, and the seasonal streams draining toward the river trace faint, irregular lines across the surrounding plain.

Per què Boromo
Un mapa amb significat
Boromo is the kind of place people remember from a journey or carry with them from childhood, and a map is a quiet way to keep it close. The spare layout works well on a wall, especially in a calm hallway or a study.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or a date, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand in particular echoes the colour of the laterite roads.
