Downtown grid
The original square blocks around the county courthouse form a tight, regular core. The rest of the town's looser street pattern grows outward from it.

El mapa
Cleveland Map Poster & Print
Cleveland is the seat of Bradley County, about half an hour northeast of Chattanooga. It sits in the long valleys of the Appalachian ridge-and-valley region. On the map, a traditional downtown grid anchors the centre. Around it, residential streets bend to follow the low ridges, and commercial strips extend along the main highways. Interstate 75 passes on the western side, adding a firm diagonal to the edge of the composition.
The town is closely tied to two institutions. Lee University's campus lies near the historic centre, and Cleveland is also the international headquarters of the Church of God, a Pentecostal denomination. To the east, the land rises towards the Cherokee National Forest and the Ocoee River. Over a short distance the map's density fades from town blocks into forested ridges.
A Cleveland map poster shows a southern town that has grown steadily outward without losing its courthouse-square core. The mix of grid, curving subdivisions and highway corridors makes the print more varied than its size would suggest, and it works well at larger sizes, where the ridgelines can be read in the gaps between streets.

Lee University
The university campus near the centre shows up as a cluster of larger buildings, open lawns and internal paths set within the surrounding residential blocks.
Ridge-bound streets
Beyond the centre, streets curve along the valleys and around low wooded ridges, echoing the long parallel folds of the Appalachian landscape.
