El mapa
Dubti Map Poster & Print
Dubti lies in the Afar Region of northeastern Ethiopia, on the lower course of the Awash River. The landscape is low, hot and largely arid, and water is what gives the map its structure. The river winds past the town through a green floodplain, and around it the geometric lines of irrigation channels and fields stand out sharply against the plain.
The area is closely tied to the Tendaho sugar project, a large irrigated scheme that has reshaped land along the Awash with long, straight canals and rectangular plots. Dubti also sits between Semera, the regional capital, and Asaita, the older Afar center, so roads connect it to a small cluster of towns strung along the valley.
A Dubti map poster presents an unusual mix of natural and engineered forms: the meandering river, the rigid irrigation grid and the compact streets of the town itself. In black and white these patterns read almost like a technical drawing, which makes the Blueprint style a particularly fitting choice for this place.
