El mapa
Gloversville Map Poster & Print
Gloversville sits in Fulton County, New York, in the foothills just south of the Adirondack Park. The city is laid out on a fairly regular grid, with a commercial main street at its centre and residential blocks stretching out toward farmland and woods. Cayadutta Creek runs through town, and the neighbouring city of Johnstown lies just to the south.
The name is literal. For much of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Gloversville was the centre of American glove manufacturing, with tanneries and cutting shops throughout the city. Many of the brick factory buildings remain, and the tight lots near the creek still reflect the industrial layout of that period.
A Gloversville map poster shows a compact, easy-to-read American town. Straight blocks are crossed by a creek that bends through the lower streets, and road corridors lead out of town. Lakes and forest begin to appear toward the north. It is a clean, balanced plan that works at any print size.

Cayadutta Creek
The creek winds through the lower part of town. Much of the old leather and glove industry once stood along its banks, and it is the map's one soft, curving line.
Adirondack edge
North of the city, the street network gives way to woods and lakes, where the foothills rise toward the Adirondack Park.
