Głowno lies in central Poland, northeast of Łódź, on the Mroga River. The town has a classic Polish layout: a central market square with streets leading out of it, a few longer roads to neighbouring towns, and residential streets that become more regular farther from the centre. Beyond the town, the flat farmland of the region stretches out in narrow strips.
The Mroga is dammed near the town to form a reservoir, which is used for recreation in summer. On a map, it is the largest open shape. The river's course, with its wooded banks and meadows, curves through the settlement and separates one part of Głowno from another. The railway line adds a long straight line across the frame.

The dammed Mroga forms a reservoir near the town, used for swimming and leisure. It appears as a broad, smooth shape against the surrounding street and field lines.
Strip fields
Around the town, agricultural land is divided into narrow parallel plots, typical of central Poland. They give the edges of the print a fine, even texture.
