Valley settlement
Residential streets gather in the lower ground between hills. They follow the contours rather than a grid, giving the district a winding, irregular shape.

El mapa
Gongchangling Map Poster & Print
Gongchangling is a district of Liaoyang in Liaoning province, in the hilly country of northeastern China. It is known for iron ore mining, which has long supplied the steel industry of the region. The map reflects that history. Residential streets fill the valleys, while industrial sites and worked ground spread across the surrounding slopes.
The settlement is shaped by terrain rather than by a single plan. Streets bend with the land, and neighbourhoods are split by ridges and rail lines serving the mines. Between the built-up areas, broad expanses of open or excavated ground give the map an unusual rhythm of dense clusters and empty spaces.
A Gongchangling map poster records this working landscape: compact residential areas, the roads and tracks connecting them and the wide industrial terrain around them. It is an unpolished place, and the map does not pretend otherwise. For people whose families built their lives around the mines, that honesty is the point.

Mining terrain
Large areas of worked land surround the town. On the poster they appear as open expanses that separate its neighbourhoods.
Rail and haul routes
Tracks and industrial roads connect the mines to the wider region. Their long lines cut across the map and tie its scattered parts together.

Per què Gongchangling
Un mapa amb significat
Industrial towns rarely get their own posters, which makes a map like this all the more personal. It suits anyone whose family history runs through Liaoning's mines and steelworks.
Add a surname, a year or a place name to the title and subtitle, and choose one of five styles. Noir gives the map a dark, graphic weight. The HD files include six print sizes with no watermark.
