Goth Radhan sits on the wide alluvial plain of upper Sindh, west of the Indus, in country so level that the map is drawn almost entirely by human hands. Irrigation channels cut straight lines through the fields, and village tracks join them at shallow angles. The town is a tight cluster of lanes where these lines meet, dense in the middle and loosening quickly towards the cultivated land around it.
From above, the contrast is simple and clear. The built core is a knot of short, irregular streets, while beyond it the land breaks into long rectangular plots set out along the waterways.
