Ems floodplain
The Ems loops through green meadows beside the town, and its meanders and open floodplain form a soft, organic line on the map.

El mapa
Greven Map Poster & Print
Greven lies in the Münsterland region of North Rhine-Westphalia, a short distance north of Münster. The town centre sits beside the Ems, which winds through meadows past the old centre, while the Dortmund-Ems Canal passes nearby in a much straighter line. Beyond the built area, fields, farmsteads and small woods make up the scattered landscape typical of the region.
Greven grew as a textile town, and spinning and weaving shaped its economy through much of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Today it is also known as the home of Münster Osnabrück International Airport, which lies within the municipality north-east of the town. The airport's runway and aprons form one of the most striking geometric shapes on any map of the area.
A Greven map poster brings together two waterways of very different character. The meandering river and its floodplain contrast with the straight line of the canal, and the town's compact centre sits close by. Around the edges, rural lanes and farmsteads give the design a quiet, finely detailed texture.

Dortmund-Ems Canal
The canal cuts through the landscape in a long, nearly straight line. It contrasts clearly with the river and makes a strong graphic stroke across the poster.
Old town centre
The compact historic core around the church and market area is the densest part of Greven and forms a clear focal point close to the river.
