El mapa
Guantánamo Map Poster & Print
Guantánamo lies in the far east of Cuba, on a plain a short distance inland from Guantánamo Bay. From above, the city is notable for its regular layout: a grid of straight streets and square blocks laid out in the nineteenth century, organised around a central park and extending toward the rivers that bound the urban area.
The name is widely known around the world, partly through the song Guantanamera, and partly because of the United States naval base on the southern shore of the bay. The city itself, however, is a quiet provincial capital, surrounded by farmland and with the mountains of eastern Cuba rising to the north.
A Guantánamo map poster focuses on the city's orderly grid and its setting between river channels and farmland. The regular blocks, the central square and the natural boundaries of the rivers create a clean, balanced composition. It offers a view of Guantánamo as a city in its own right, beyond the associations its name carries.

Central park square
At the heart of the grid, the main square forms an open space from which the surrounding streets extend in all directions in a symmetrical pattern.
River boundaries
Rivers run along the edges of the urban area, their curving courses contrasting with the straight streets and marking where the city gives way to farmland.

Per què Guantánamo
Un mapa amb significat
For Cubans from the east of the island and for those in the diaspora, Guantánamo is home rather than a headline. A map of its grid and rivers offers a calm, personal way to remember the city as it is.
Add a title, a subtitle perhaps quoting the famous song and the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; digital files include six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF without watermarks.
