Haqqulobod lies in the Namangan region of eastern Uzbekistan, on the northern side of the Fergana Valley. The valley is one of the most intensively farmed parts of Central Asia, and the town's map reflects that: a core of streets and low-rise neighbourhoods, surrounded by fields, orchards and the fine lines of irrigation canals that carry water across the plain.
Traditional neighbourhoods here are made up of family houses built around courtyards, which gives the map a pattern of small blocks separated by narrow lanes. Larger roads cut through in straighter lines, linking Haqqulobod with Namangan and the other towns of the valley, while the surrounding farmland breaks into long, narrow parcels.
