El mapa
Horn Lake Map Poster & Print
Horn Lake is a city in DeSoto County, Mississippi, directly south of the Tennessee state line and the city of Memphis. It is a mostly residential place, and from above its map is typical of Southern suburban growth. Arterial roads run straight north to south, with subdivisions of curving streets, cul-de-sacs and loops filling the space between them.
The city takes its name from Horn Lake, a curved body of water in the low ground to the west. It lies in the flat land of the Mississippi River floodplain, where old river channels leave crescent-shaped lakes and bayous. That landscape contrasts with the orderly suburban streets, and on a map the lake appears as a clean, curved shape.
A Horn Lake map poster pairs the soft geometry of subdivisions with the flat, water-marked lowland nearby. The result is a composition that feels calm and open. It is well suited to Paper or Sand, where the curving residential streets read almost like contour lines.

Curving subdivisions
Residential areas are laid out in loops and cul-de-sacs. They produce rounded, repeating shapes that fill the space between the main roads.
North–south arteries
Straight arterial roads run toward Memphis and link the neighbourhoods, providing the strong structural lines in a map that is otherwise curved.
