Huntington Station is a hamlet in the Town of Huntington on Long Island's north shore, a short distance inland from Huntington Harbor. From above, it is a dense patchwork of residential streets. Some follow an older, straighter grid near the station, while others curve in loops and cul-de-sacs typical of postwar suburban building.
The Long Island Rail Road cuts across the hamlet, and its station, which gives the place its name, sits near the older commercial streets. New York Avenue, also known as Route 110, runs north to south through the middle. The hamlet also includes the birthplace of Walt Whitman, now preserved as a historic site near the southern edge of the area.

New York Avenue runs north to south through Huntington Station. It links the hamlet with Huntington village and the harbor, and forms the strongest vertical line on the map.
