Ibicuí sits in the interior of southern Bahia, well back from the Atlantic coast. From above, the town is a small, dense cluster of streets surrounded by open countryside. Roads leave the centre and thin out quickly into rural tracks, so the built-up area has a clear edge where town turns into pasture and low hills.
The street pattern is modest and practical. A handful of main roads carry most of the traffic, and shorter residential blocks fill the spaces between them. On a black-and-white print the contrast is strong: a tight knot of fine lines in the middle, then wide empty space broken only by the occasional road or stream running across the landscape.
