El mapa
Ilovays’k Map Poster & Print
Ilovays’k is in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, east of the city of Donetsk. It grew around the railway, and the junction still dominates the town plan. Wide bands of track, sidings and depot land run through the middle of the town, and the residential streets are arranged on either side in a regular grid of low houses and garden plots.
The surrounding land is open steppe and farmland, crossed by roads and rail lines heading toward other towns in the Donbas. The town became known internationally in 2014 because of the heavy fighting there during the war in eastern Ukraine.
An Ilovays’k map poster presents the town through its structure: the broad rail corridor, the evenly spaced streets and the flat country beyond. For people connected to the town, it keeps an accurate record of the place as it is laid out on the ground.
