Kashmor lies in the far north of Sindh, on the right bank of the Indus, close to where the province meets Punjab and Balochistan. On a map the town is a compact grid of streets set against the wide floodplain of the river, with irrigation canals and farm roads stretching out across the level ground. The Indus itself dominates the eastern side of the view.
The nearby Guddu Barrage, completed in the early 1960s, controls the Indus here and feeds a large irrigation network, as well as supporting a major power station. That infrastructure shapes the surrounding landscape, turning dry land into farmland crossed by channels that show clearly on a map.

Upstream, the Guddu Barrage controls the Indus and supplies the irrigation canals of the region, making it one of the key engineering works in northern Sindh.
