El mapa
Kituku Map Poster & Print
Kituku is a town in Tanganyika Province, in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The province takes its name from Lake Tanganyika, the long, deep rift lake that forms the country's eastern border. Kituku lies in the south of the province, in a region of hills, rivers and savanna woodland, far from the big national centres.
Maps of towns like this look very different from European or Asian grids. Main roads carry the settlement, and neighbourhoods form along them as clusters of paths and small lanes. Open mapping data in this part of the country keeps improving but remains incomplete, so a poster shows the network as it has been recorded, with space around it where roads have not yet been mapped.
This is a place that rarely appears in atlases or travel guides, and that makes a map of it more personal. A Kituku map poster is for people who have lived or worked here, or who have family in the region, and want a simple picture of the place that is theirs.

Settlement clusters
Houses and lanes gather along the roads in loose groups. Their irregular pattern gives the map a quiet, organic texture.
Open surroundings
Around the town, the map is largely open space. This emptiness frames the settlement and keeps the composition simple.

Per què Kituku
Un mapa amb significat
Kituku is a map for people with a real connection to it, whether they grew up there, worked in the region, or keep family ties across the distance. It is a personal record, not a tourist souvenir.
You can set your own title and subtitle, perhaps a name, a year or a phrase in French or Swahili, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
