Kumbo is a town in the North-West Region of Cameroon, set in the Bamenda Highlands at high altitude. It is the traditional centre of the Nso people, and the palace of the Fon of Nso sits within the town. On a map, the streets follow the hills, bending around slopes and spreading along ridges.
The town serves as a regional centre for trade, education and health care, with schools, churches and a hospital among its larger sites. The Ring Road, a well-known route through the Grassfields, links Kumbo with other highland towns. Around the town, farms and open grassland cover the rolling hills.
