El mapa
Lake Michigan Map Poster & Print
Lake Michigan is the only one of the Great Lakes that lies entirely within the United States, and at this scale it reads almost like an inland sea. Its long axis runs north to south, and the shoreline is fairly smooth along the south and east before it breaks into bays and peninsulas at the northern end.
The southwestern shore carries the densest detail. Chicago's street grid presses right up to the water, with Milwaukee further north, and lakefront parks and harbours cut a clean edge along the city blocks. On the eastern side the Michigan shore is quieter, marked by dunes, small harbour towns and river mouths.
Up north, Green Bay and Grand Traverse Bay reach into the land, and the Straits of Mackinac link the lake to Lake Huron beneath the Mackinac Bridge. A Lake Michigan map poster frames this scale in a single view, from the gridded south to the open, forested north.

Per què Lake Michigan
Un mapa amb significat
For people who grew up on its shores, Lake Michigan is simply the lake, the horizon at the end of the street. A map of the whole basin connects a Chicago apartment, a Wisconsin harbour and a summer cottage on the dunes in one frame.
Add a title such as the name of your town or a family surname, a subtitle with a year, and your own coordinates line. The same map is available in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as a $9 set of HD files or as a printed poster.
