Lazarevskoye is a resort district in the north-west of Greater Sochi, on the Black Sea coast of Krasnodar Krai. It is named after Admiral Mikhail Lazarev, who was associated with the region's 19th-century fortifications. The town occupies the mouth of the Psezuapse River valley, where a small patch of flat land opens between the sea and the hills.
From above, the settlement is long and narrow. A coastal railway runs right along the shore, and behind it the streets fill the valley floor before climbing into steep, wooded slopes. The river cuts through the centre, and the beach forms a continuous line along the sea.
