Linz Map Poster
Linz spreads along both banks of the Danube in Upper Austria, with the historic centre on the south bank and Urfahr facing it across the water. The river arrives from the west through a narrower valley and then opens out, so the map shows hills pressing in on the north side and a flatter plain spreading south and east. The Traun joins the Danube just south-east of the city.
The old town is organised around the Hauptplatz, a long rectangular square running down toward the Nibelungen Bridge. North of the river the Pöstlingberg rises above Urfahr, reached by a mountain tram counted among the steepest adhesion railways in the world. On the waterfront, the Lentos art museum and the Ars Electronica Center face each other across the Danube.

Pöstlingberg
The hill above Urfahr brings contour and green space to the north side of the map, its winding roads and tramline climbing toward the pilgrimage church at the top.
