El mapa
Mmopone Map Poster & Print
Mmopone lies in the Kweneng District of Botswana, on the north-western edge of the Gaborone area. It is one of several villages that have grown quickly as the capital's influence spreads outward. On the map that growth is visible in the regular, freshly laid plots and straight roads of the newer sections, extending out from an older, less formal village core.
The surrounding land is flat to gently rolling bushveld, dry for much of the year. From above, the pattern of plots and roads forms a fairly even grid, with large open spaces between clusters of houses where development has not yet reached. In black and white, this gives the map an open, spacious quality quite different from denser city maps.
A Mmopone map poster suits residents who have built homes here and people who watched the village change over the years. It records a place in the middle of transformation, where plot lines and new roads show how a settlement expands. The Classic style keeps those grid lines crisp and clear.

Older village core
The original settlement has a less formal layout, with irregular lanes and plots that contrast with the geometric newer sections.
Open bushveld
Large undeveloped areas surround and separate the built-up clusters, leaving wide pale spaces on the map that reflect the dry landscape.
