Morrelgonj Map Poster & Print
Morrelgonj is a river town in Bagerhat District, in the Khulna Division of southwest Bangladesh. The area belongs to the lower Ganges delta, where land and water mix closely and the tide reaches far inland. On a map the town lies along a broad river, with its streets and market area packed near the water and roads running out along raised ground into the villages around it.
The map is dominated by water. Rivers split into channels, channels into creeks, and the land between them breaks into irregular islands of fields, ponds and homesteads. To the south lie the Sundarbans, the huge mangrove forest shared with India, and the area around Morrelgonj is part of the populated, cultivated land on its northern side.
A Morrelgonj map poster turns this intricate delta into a study of curves. There are almost no straight lines. Instead, the rivers make looping contours and the roads have to follow the land that stays dry. It suits anyone who wants to hang the place they come from, and the map is interesting even to people who have never been there.

Branching channels
Creeks and side channels spread through the surrounding land like veins, giving the map a detailed, organic texture that is very different from a planned street grid.
Toward the Sundarbans
The delta continues south toward the mangrove forest, and a wider frame shows the channels getting broader and more numerous as they approach the Bay of Bengal.
