El mapa
Muritiba Map Poster & Print
Muritiba is in the Recôncavo of Bahia, the fertile country around the Bay of All Saints. The town sits on high ground above the valley of the Paraguaçu River, near the historic river towns of Cachoeira and São Félix. From above, the streets follow the terrain, running along ridges and bending as the land drops toward the valley.
The Recôncavo is one of Brazil's oldest settled regions. Its towns grew with sugar and tobacco and with trade along the river and the bay. Muritiba belongs to that inland network. Its map shows a town tied to the landscape, not laid out on a blank plan, with irregular blocks and roads leading down the slopes.
A Muritiba map poster captures the relationship between a hill town and the valley below it. The lines of the streets show where the ground rises and where it falls away. For people from the Recôncavo, this is a familiar shape made simple and clear.

Recôncavo neighbours
Muritiba lies close to Cachoeira and São Félix, the river towns that face each other across the Paraguaçu. Together they make one of Bahia's best-known inland groupings.
Slope-shaped blocks
The blocks are irregular, shaped by the terrain rather than a grid. On the poster they form a pattern that clearly comes from the hills.
