Paks Map Poster
Paks lies on the right bank of the Danube in Tolna County, and the river shapes everything on its map. The town extends in a long band along the water, with main streets following the direction of the current and shorter streets climbing away from the bank. The Danube itself forms a broad, clean stroke down one side of the sheet.
The town is best known across Hungary as the site of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, the country's only nuclear power station, which lies south of the town along the river. Around the settlement, the flat agricultural land of the Great Hungarian Plain spreads out in wide fields.
