Polohy Map Poster
Polohy is a town in Zaporizhzhia Oblast in southeastern Ukraine and the administrative centre of the district that shares its name. It sits on the broad, gently rolling steppe that covers much of the region, where the land is mostly flat and farmed in large open fields. On a map that openness shapes everything: the town stands out clearly as a cluster of streets in a wide, lightly drawn landscape.
The railway explains much of Polohy's form. The town grew as a rail junction, and the tracks cut across the map as long, confident strokes that the streets have to work around. Residential blocks spread out to either side in a fairly regular pattern. Beyond them, private houses with garden plots give way to field boundaries and the straight roads that link the surrounding villages.
