El mapa
Seesen Map Poster & Print
Seesen lies in Lower Saxony on the north-western edge of the Harz mountains. On a map, the town's compact centre sits on relatively flat ground, while wooded slopes rise sharply to the east. Roads and a railway line follow the edge of the hills, and residential neighbourhoods extend outward into the valleys and open countryside.
The town has an unusual place in music history: Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg built pianos in Seesen before emigrating to New York, where he founded Steinway & Sons. Seesen is also associated with Israel Jacobson, whose school and temple here, established in the early nineteenth century, played an important role in the development of Reform Judaism.
A Seesen map poster shows the meeting of town and mountain. The irregular streets of the old centre form a dense cluster, with more regular residential areas spreading outwards. To the east, the forest leaves a large, open area cut only by a few winding roads, giving the composition a strong, natural edge.

Per què Seesen
Un mapa amb significat
Seesen appeals to people with roots in the Harz foothills, as well as to musicians and piano lovers who know the Steinway story. A map of the town is a quiet tribute to a small place with an outsized influence.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a year or a family name, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits the town's nineteenth-century heritage.
