El mapa
Settiyārpatti Map Poster & Print
Settiyārpatti lies in southern Tamil Nadu, in the flat agricultural country that stretches east from the foot of the Western Ghats. From above it is a compact settlement: a cluster of streets and closely built homes, a few roads linking it to nearby towns and villages, and a broad surround of fields and irrigation tanks.
The mountains of the Western Ghats rise not far to the west, and they shape the whole region, feeding the streams and tanks that water the farmland. On a map the land around the town is crossed by channels and field boundaries, with small reservoirs appearing as quiet, pale shapes.
A Settiyārpatti map poster shows a town in close relationship with its farmland. The streets at the centre, the roads leading away and the fields and tanks around them form a calm, balanced composition. It is a picture of a place as the people who live there know it, not as a tourist sees it.

Irrigation tanks
Small reservoirs, common in this part of Tamil Nadu, dot the farmland. On the map they appear as smooth, open shapes among the fields.
Roads across the plain
Country roads link the town to neighbouring settlements. Their lines run across the flat land and give the composition its structure.
