Plateau edge
The town stops abruptly where the plateau meets the gorge. On the poster, this gives Shusha an unusually sharp silhouette, with dense lines on one side and near-blank space on the other.

El mapa
Shusha Map Poster & Print
Shusha sits on a rocky plateau at roughly 1,400 metres, with sheer drops on several sides. From above, the streets bend to follow the terrain, climbing and turning around the remains of the old fortress walls. The town has a clear edge where the land falls away. That sharp outline, with the settlement on one side and empty slope on the other, is what makes the map so legible.
The town was founded in the mid-eighteenth century as a stronghold of the Karabakh Khanate. It became known for its music, especially mugham, and was sometimes described as the conservatory of the Caucasus. Azerbaijan regained control of Shusha in 2020 and named it the country's cultural capital the following year. Reconstruction has been under way ever since.
A Shusha map poster shows a place shaped more by geology than by planning. Winding lanes, the ring of fortifications and the open ground of the Jidir Duzu plain at the plateau's edge all read clearly in monochrome. The Noir style brings out the drama of the cliffs, while Classic keeps the old street pattern crisp.

Fortress walls
Stretches of the eighteenth-century defensive wall trace the approaches to the town. They add a strong curving line that frames the older quarters inside.
Jidir Duzu
This open plain on the plateau rim, long used for gatherings and horse races, appears as a calm, empty space next to the tight street network.
