El mapa
Stratford Map Poster & Print
Stratford's map is organised around water. The Avon river widens into Lake Victoria, a long, narrow body of water lined with parkland that runs through the middle of town. Streets approach it from both sides, and the downtown sits just to the south, where several roads meet at odd angles around a triangular block occupied by the city hall.
The town took its name, and its river's name, from Stratford-upon-Avon, and it has lived up to the connection. The Stratford Festival, founded in the 1950s, grew into one of North America's best-known theatre festivals, and its main stage sits beside the parkland on the river. The town is also the hometown of the singer Justin Bieber.
A Stratford map poster shows a place of modest size with a very clear centre: the ribbon of lake and park, the downtown knot, and the rail lines and residential grids that extend toward the surrounding farmland of Perth County. In fine lines it has the calm, balanced look of a well-planned small town.

Downtown triangle
Main streets converge downtown at sharp angles around the city hall block, breaking the regular grid and giving the centre an easily recognised shape.
Festival riverside
The festival's main theatre stands by the park along the river, part of the stretch of green and water that makes the northern side of downtown so distinctive.

Per què Stratford
Un mapa amb significat
