Tando Bago lies in southern Sindh, in the lower part of the Indus plain, where the land is almost perfectly flat and the landscape is shaped by irrigation. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets and lanes at the meeting of local roads, with the surrounding countryside divided into fields by canals, watercourses and field boundaries.
Like many towns in this part of Sindh, Tando Bago serves as a local centre for the farming communities around it, and its map reflects that role. The busiest streets gather near the centre, while outer lanes thin out quickly into rural roads.
