El mapa
Trento Map Poster & Print
Trento lies in the Adige valley, surrounded by mountains on almost every side. From above, the city fills a narrow valley floor, with the river running along its western side and steep slopes rising quickly beyond the last streets. The compact historic centre, around Piazza Duomo, sits close to the Castello del Buonconsiglio, with newer districts extending north and south along the valley.
The city is best known for the Council of Trent, held here between 1545 and 1563, which shaped the Catholic Counter-Reformation. The cathedral and the Neptune fountain mark the centre of the old town. West of the river, the rocky hill of Doss Trento rises above the city, and a cable car climbs to the village of Sardagna on the mountainside.
A Trento map poster captures a city defined by its valley: the river, the tight grid of the old centre and the abrupt edge where streets meet slopes. In black and white, the mountain setting shows through the empty space around the city. It suits students from the university, hikers heading to Monte Bondone and anyone who loves Alpine towns.

Historic centre
Around Piazza Duomo, narrow streets and small squares form a dense core, with the castle marking its eastern edge near the old walls.
Valley edges
Streets stop abruptly where the mountains begin, so the map shows a long, narrow city framed by large empty areas of steep ground.
