Ubauro lies in Ghotki District at the northern tip of Sindh, close to the border with Punjab and on the eastern side of the Indus. The country around it is part of the broad Indus plain, completely flat and heavily cultivated. On the map the town appears as a compact grouping of streets set among fields, canals and small villages.
The national highway between Karachi and the north runs through the town, and Ubauro's layout reflects it: a busy linear strip of shops and workshops along the road, with residential lanes branching off into denser neighbourhoods behind. Irrigation channels cut the surrounding land into long rectangles, a regular backdrop for the town's more irregular core.
