The Han River
The river runs along the town in a broad band. It is the strongest single line on the poster and anchors the layout of the streets that grew up beside it.

El mapa
Yangzhou Map Poster & Print
This Yangzhou is not the well-known canal city near the Yangtze. It is the seat of Yang County in southern Shaanxi, at the eastern end of the Hanzhong basin. On a map the town sits low beside the Han River, and its streets fill a strip of flat ground before the land folds up into hills. The river forms a strong edge and sets the direction of the whole plan.
The street pattern is simple and practical. A few main roads run parallel to the river, crossed by shorter lanes that reach toward the slopes. Around the built-up core the map thins out into field boundaries, streams and winding hill roads. A Yangzhou map poster captures that change from compact town to open valley, and that change gives the print its quiet balance.
The wider county is best known for the crested ibis. In 1981, when the species was feared lost in the wild, a small group of the birds was found in the hills of Yang County, and conservation work there has since helped it recover. For many people with ties to the area, that story is part of why the place feels worth marking on a wall.

Valley floor streets
Main roads follow the course of the river, and shorter cross streets stretch toward higher ground. The result is a loose, elongated grid shaped by the width of the flat land.
Hills on every side
Beyond the town, roads that follow the contours and scattered settlements trace the edges of the Hanzhong basin, which gives the outer margins of the map a softer, more organic texture.

Per què Yangzhou
Un mapa amb significat
For anyone who grew up in Yang County, studied there or followed the ibis story from afar, this map recalls one particular valley town rather than offering a generic view of China. Its long river line works in both portrait and landscape frames.
