Dinder River
The river bends past the town on its way to the Blue Nile, and its course and wooded banks give the composition a strong, natural curve.

关于地图
Ad Dindar Map Poster & Print
Ad Dindar, often written Dinder, is a town in Sennar State in south-eastern Sudan, beside the river that shares its name. The Dinder River flows down from the Ethiopian highlands towards the Blue Nile, and on a map its winding course with wooded banks forms the natural edge of the town. The streets beside it are laid out in a fairly regular pattern of blocks, open plots and wide unpaved roads.
The river is seasonal, running high in the rainy months and dropping sharply in the dry season, and the land around it is used for farming and grazing. Further upstream, towards the Ethiopian border, lies Dinder National Park, one of Sudan's largest protected areas, named after the same river. The town serves as a local centre for the surrounding villages.
Maps of towns like Ad Dindar are rarely made with care, which gives this one particular value. An Ad Dindar map poster shows the relationship between river and settlement clearly, with the curve of the water set against the straight lines of the streets. It is a personal keepsake for Sudanese families at home and abroad who want a picture of where they come from.

Regular town blocks
Streets are arranged in broad, fairly regular blocks with open plots between them, producing a calm, spacious pattern typical of towns in central Sudan.
Farmland and plains
Around the built area, fields and grazing land stretch away across level ground and appear as quiet open space framing the town on the poster.

一张有意义的地图
Many families from Sennar State now live far from home, and a map of Ad Dindar can hold a strong personal meaning. It shows the place as it is, the river and the streets, without decoration.
You can add your own title, a subtitle in memory of a person or year, and edit the coordinates line. Select Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the HD files or order a printed poster.
