关于地图
Aku Map Poster & Print
Aku lies in the uplands of northern Enugu State, in the Igbo-Etiti area near Nsukka, and its map reflects a landscape of gentle hills and scattered settlement. Rather than a single dense core, the town is made up of village quarters linked by roads that follow the shape of the land, with compounds, schools and churches spread along them.
The street pattern is irregular and open, with lanes branching from main roads into residential clusters and farmland. Green spaces take up much of the map, and the built-up areas appear as connected patches rather than one block. It is a pattern shared by many towns across Igboland, where community life is organised around villages and kindreds.
An Aku map poster records this landscape in simple line work, with each road and junction in its place. For people from the town, especially those living in Enugu, Lagos or abroad, it is a way to keep home close, with the roads to family compounds and markets drawn plainly on the wall.

Upland roads
Roads follow the terrain of the Nsukka uplands, curving and branching rather than forming a grid, which gives the poster a natural, hand-drawn feel.
Open green ground
Farmland and vegetation fill much of the map between settlements, leaving open space that frames the roads and makes each cluster easy to read.

为什么选 Aku
一张有意义的地图
A map of Aku belongs in the home of anyone with roots there, whether living in Enugu or far away. It suits a family gift, a new house or a reminder of a festival or wedding held back in the village.
The title can carry the town or the family name, the subtitle a date, and the coordinates line can be edited. Five styles are available, so the poster can be matched to a room, from Classic black & white to the warmer Paper and Sand.
